I fell in love with scrapbooking the moment I was introduced to it!
I had been invited by a friend of mine to a Creative Memories class that she was hosting. I had wanted, for sometime, to learn how to scrapbook. My oldest son was over one and a half years old and I had a ton of pictures that I didn't know what to do with. I had gathered a few scrapbooking supplies, although I really had no idea what supplies I needed, so I could get started. But then I realized. I was afraid to start! I still had too many important, unanswered questions about scrapbooking.
What things, other than photographs, do I put on a scrapbooking page?
How do I go about cropping my beautiful pictures? (I didn't want to do anything that might destroy them.)
What should I write about?
What does "acid free" mean and what, exactly, is lignin?
So, I never attempted to get started.
I had no idea that there were people and places, such as Creative Memories and their consultants, which would help me and answer my questions, until my friend invited me to her class. I brought a few nice photos to the class, photos that I wouldn't mind too much if they accidentally got messed up. The class was exactly what I needed!
The consultant introduced herself and the line of products that she had brought with her. She provided a scrapbooking page and all the materials that we might need to complete our first page: cropping supplies, adhesives, decorative papers, pens, stickers, layout ideas, etc. Then, she just walked around the room helping anyone who had questions or wanted advice as we let our imaginations create our first pages. My first scrapbooking page ever, that I made that evening, turned out so beautiful, that it's still one of my favorite pages today.
Ever since that evening some time ago, I've been hooked on scrapbooking. I was so excited to continue a scrapbook for my son. I had a much better idea of what materials I needed and what materials I liked. Now, I scrapbook every time I bring more photos home from the photo developer. My son's scrapbook is an ongoing story of his life. His first years come and go so quickly that I'm glad I can hold on to them forever. I can flip from his first page, the day he was born, to the present, current pages and remember all the stories in between.
I am so passionate about scrapbooking now that I've held my own scrapbooking classes and helped my family and many of my friends get started. I have found that several people were in the same situation I was in before I finally learned what scrapbooking was all about.
My reason for creating this website is for those people like me. who want to start scrapbooking but don't know where or how to begin.
This can be your ONE STOP SCRAPBOOKING GUIDE to scrapbooking knowledge and a variety of quality materials. Not only that, but I'll be sharing exciting layout ideas, tips, quotes, and interesting articles on my website!
